Dear Voter:
We (Brad Carey and Harold Carey) are each running for Fire Commissioner of Tahuya District 8.
-
Brad Carey is running for position #2
- Harold Carey position #3
We are write-in candidates Sample Ballot
This is the first of several letters you will be receiving from us. We believe that upon receipt and
review of these letters you will want to write our names on your ballot thereby ensuring Positive
Change for your Tahuya Fire Department.
Why are we running?
The following lists some of the key reasons:
- To bring Professional Management, Leadership and Vision to two of the three Fire Commissioner positions through the write-in election of Brad Carey and Harold Carey.
- To upgrade the human and hardware emergency medical capability of the fire department within our current projected tax revenues.
- To upgrade the human fire protection capability of the fire department within our current projected tax revenues.
- To bring the Commission, and the Tahuya Fire Department, into compliance with Local, State and Federal law.
- To create an implement a Disaster Response System and capability for those disasters our fire district is most likely to experience.
- To implement a plan that leads to the intelligent utilization of the Tahuya Grocery Store/Property that was purchased by the Tahuya Fire Department. (This is an asset of tremendous potential that for more than 2 years has been tied up in petty blame games.)
- To return the control of the Tahuya Fire Department back to the people as defined in the law by the Washington State Legislature.
- To break the back of the “good ol’ boy” tradition of the Tahuya Fire Department Commission and the fire department’s unacceptable operational leadership. (In doing this, the Tahuya Fire Department will go from a “social club” to a professional fire department.)
Examples of additional problems and solutions will be forth coming. However, we list several current problems for your review:
- Have our commissioners taken an oath to obey the Constitution of the US and the Constitution and laws of the State of Washington and to discharge their duties impartially?
